Manushi Chhillar, a girl from Haryana, won Miss World 2017 title in a dazzling event held at Sanya City Arena in China. She is the sixth Indian to have won the crown.
Seventeen years ago in 2000 Priyanka Chopra won Miss World award held at the Millennium Dome in London, United Kingdom.
Chillar competed against 108 contestants from various countries. Mexico’s Andrea Meza was the second runner-up while England’s Stephanie was awarded first runner-up.
Miss World 2016 winner Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle gave away the coveted crown to the winner. Chillar had earlier this year won the Femina Miss India 2017. Apart from the coveted crown, Chillar also won the Beauty with Purpose award.
Manushi, 21, born to doctor parents, studied in St. Thomas School in Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat.
