Lights, cameras, cocktails and dinner on the deck made up a glamorous event at Silent Signature’s music, poster and teaser release on 17th July. The party, organised on the Hooghly at Floatel on Strand Road, was attended by the star cast of the film and media persons. While the excitement about the film was evident among those present, everyone is waiting with bated breath for this film that will release on July 27.
Actor-director Ranajit Das introduced the press to the story of the film that is fresh and at the same time relevant. Based on a young man’s talent of being able to forge anyone’s signature, Silent Signature promises to take the audience through a journey of initial success and later intense failure, frustration and despair in the life of a young college student. “The concept occurred to me after I heard of cases where people lose money, property and other belongings for just one forged signature. A signature has a lot of value in our lives right from the time of birth to death,” said Ranajit.
The concept is fresh and is also relevant to the present times and that prompted producer Achintya Bose to support Ranajit. “I like to help fresh talent, I saw the enthusiasm in Ranajit and that made me determined to help him,” said Achintya. Moubani Sarkar, who plays the leading lady in the film described her role as ‘not the conventional heroine who sings songs and lives in a bubble with her hero’. “My role has some shades of grey that is usually uncommon in leading female roles in Tollywood. I was really inspired to work in this film because it has a truly meaningful message for people. The subject is relevant today in the age when crimes rates are increasing,” said Moubani. Debutant Payel Roy plays an item dancer in the film. Actors Arun Banerjee, Supriyo Dutta and Debranjan Nag were also present at the release and shared their experience of shooting for the film.
Singer Jojo, regaled the audience with her work experience in the film. “I have sung only the item song in the film. The melody is not important because the song has a rap element which is trendy among youngsters these days and I am sure they will like it,” she said. Ranajit has kept just two songs in his film, with the intent of keeping the commercial factor low. “There is just one item song and one other sad song and we are confident that both songs will be very popular,” said Ranajit. Silent Signature is expected to release end of July. “I have set my hopes on this film and I’m sure it will do well,” said Achintya.
