Giving a musical start to the Bengali New Year, Angel Digital paid tribute to veteran comedian and actor, Chinmoy Roy, in his own voice. The actor was remembered, this time, not through comedy but in a unique compilation of Rabindrasangeet that he had sung himself. The album named, Smritir Potey Chinmoy was launched at the Kolkata Press Club on April 16 in the presence of composer Kalyan Sen Barat, singer Indrani Sen and others. Chinmoy Roy remains immortal through his memorable roles as Tenida in Char Murti and even in evergreen Tollywood productions like Basanta Bilap, Nonigopaler Biye, Abelaye Gorom Bhat, Mouchak and many others. However, after his death, Chinmoy’s fans will discover the other talents of the actor through works like these. Angel Digital has compiled six Rabindrasangeet compositions that he has sung along with singer Malabika Mukherjee. “It is indeed a special moment in the Bengali New Year that we are launching this music album where Chinmoy Roy has lent his voice. Everyone knew him as a comedian, but not many know him as a singer,” said Barat at the programme.
